Description

Oware is an African strategy game belonging to the Mancala category. It is played in many African countries under various names, including Awalé, Awele, Awari, and Kalaha.

The game is played on a board with 12 small holes called "houses" or "playing fields," with six holes on each side of the board. Each player controls the six holes on their side. The object of the game is to collect as many seeds as possible.

The game consists of sowing seeds (in the form of stones, beans, etc.) from hole to hole in a clockwise direction. The player takes all the seeds from one of their holes and sows them in one movement around the board, placing one seed in each subsequent hole. If the last seed lands in an enemy hole and there are two or three seeds in total in that hole, they are captured and placed in their winning hole.

The game ends when a player is no longer able to collect or move any more pieces. The player with the most pieces in their winning hole wins.

Oware requires strategic thinking and move planning to achieve the best outcome. It's a game with simple rules but rich strategic possibilities.
